‘First Contact’ with Noelle Hannibal!

Hannibal_Noelle_March2015This week’s TrekFan watch-along will be ‘First Contact’ with our special guest, Noelle Hannibal!

Six years have passed since Captain Jean-Luc Picard was captured and assimilated by the Borg. Now, the Borg make a second attempt to conquer the Federation; but Starfleet believes that Picard’s experience makes him an “unstable element to a critical situation” and orders him to stay behind. But, when Starfleet’s fight does not go well, Picard and the crew of the new USS Enterprise disobey orders to join the fight, following the Borg three hundred years into the past just as Zefram Cochrane prepares to launch Humanity’s first warp-capable engine, the Phoenix, and make first contact with an alien race.

TNG: Rascals with Diana Dru Botsford!

rascals239 This week’s TrekFan Watch-Along is the episode ‘Rascals’ from season six of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Captain Picard, Ensign Ro, Guinan, and Keiko O’Brien are regressed physiologically to age 12 by a transporter accident, but retain their adult memories, resulting in different reactions from each. When rogue Ferengi hijack the Enterprise, the young crewmembers, along with Alexander Rozhenko, lead the revolt.

As always, we’ll be starting at 9:30pm Eastern. But we have a special guest this week: Diana Dru Botsford, who wrote the episode!

dbotsfordWriter/Producer Diana Botsford‘s works run the gamut from novels to the screen including the Star Trek TNG episode, “Rascals,” the Stargate SG-1 novels (“Four Dragons,” “The Drift” and the upcoming “The Many & the Few”) ,and the award-winning science fiction webseries “Epilogue.”  Botsford’s work includes writing, producing, and visual FX for a variety of films and television series.
